Taormina

Taormina is situated on a hill of 200 metres of height called Monte Tauro, suspended between the rocks and the sea in a moving landscape of natural beauty, rare for variety and contrast of motives. It has been called “the pearl of the Ionian Sea”, Taormina has always seduced poets and writers from all around the world, dazed from the breath-taking panorama and the wonderful shores. The French writers, Guy de Maupassant said that in Taormina “you can find all that seams created on the heart to seduce the eyes, the mind and fantasy”.

Many events and performances are realized every years, especially during summer, in Taormina. One of the most loved stage of concerts, dramas, comedies and events is the Greek-Roman theatre, the second in Sicily for size, in which is held the famous “Taormina Film Festival”.
